The waiter was fine, but the establishment was very disappointing. Burger seemed like a frozen patty. Pickle was wimpy out of a jar. Waited an hour for burger. Place was more like a low dollar diner trying to be better than they were.
We completed our dining experience with after dinner drinks at the bar. Discovering the intricacies of the bar itself is an experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. It is simply gorgeous! From the quality design to the eclectic decor package, it is a treat for your eyes! We, of course, ordered ice cream drinks. Even though the bar was very busy at the time, the bartender remained pleasant without grumbling made our drinks very promptly. What do you expect we found on top of our Grasshoppers? Filberts! Now there's a sign of an old-fashioned supper club! As we left, the hostess was just as congenial as when we arrived.
Great atmosphere. Good food and prices and Good service. Parking was interesting due to being very busy but that should tell you something.
I will not waste my time or noney there again.
On our first diniing experience at Sylvan Glen we discovered the new rebirth of an old-fashioned supper club!! This restaurant may have taken years to complete, but they got everything right down to the last dettail! Everything they do here is OUTSTANDING!
The Friday fish fry couldn't have been any better! The incredibly lightly breaded filets were perfectly golden brown! No soggy, mushy fish here! The sirloin steak was also a very good choice. It was grilled to perfection, tender and juicy. I have to admit that I am kind of a baked potatoe snob. My potatoe not only met but exceeded my standards for a great baked potato.
Like this place so far, but the menu is limited. Once they are fully underway I think it will be fantastic! A super stop for a burger and a drink, but not quite set up for a great meal yet.
Our party of 4 was greeted by a very friendly hostess who went out of her way to put together 2 tables near a fireplace in a quiter section of the restaurant...without even being asked! Things just got better from there. When the drinks arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Old-fashiones were handmade made with ample liquor and giant-sized cherries. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. We had lots of choices of "to go with" items like salads and choices of potatoes. The house salad contained a variety of crispy,fresh greens surrounded by a variety of vegetables like cucumber and cherry tomatoes. Even the cherry tomatoes were cut in half to prevent any unwanted explosions.
Now a full menu that is evolving. Beautiful inside and out. Stand alone bar with an incredible gas fireplace. Friendly staff. Good food.
Can't wait to go back to try other menu items! I heard that the ribeye is to die for! Also, we were told that they are serving Prime Rib on Saturdays.
I am waiting for the full menu to come out and see what unique special items they can put on the menu to stand out from the rest. Then I will come back and give them the last star if they earned it.
